Finally!! :)

The wooden breeding box arrived today. Of course it's not what I thought it was. But it will do. I'm just disappointed that it didn't have hooks to hang outside of the cage. It did state that it is an outside the cage box. But anyway I hope it will be fine. I had to do some switch a roos.
I am expecting it to take a couple of weeks for anything to happen. But don't worry I will do lots of updates:)

Yay!!! The Fun Begins

I couldn't wait for the breeding box to come in the mail so I went and bought one at the pet store. It's not the one I really wanted, but it will work. I had to put it in the inside because I couldn't manage to cut through the bars:( I will use the other breeding box with my other pair when I get it. By then they should be in the mood because of the other two!

A Little Update :)

Well I have my pairs in my living room. I have more room there and can keep a better eye on them. As we were sitting and talking we all witnessed a little hanky panky going on with Big Jewel and Kiwi!!!! :-) So I will be putting the nest box with My greens and then that should get April and August started. By then I will have another nest box for them.

My Pairs

This is my first pair I acquired. I think they are absolutely beautiful! August is the male and April female. When I learn more about mutations I'll be able to tell you are just what they are. They will be turning one soon and have been together since around 3-4 months old. They are very fond of each other. They should make some very pretty babies.

Now to introduce with my second pair. The greens. First is Big Jewel. She is my half  English Budgie. She is huge compaired to Kiwi.
Then last but certainly not least my dear Kiwi. I got him as a birthday gift in May of 2009, He was 4 months old. Then a little while later life changed for me and I decided to rehome all of my birds:( That was a terrible decision!! Well thank goodness I had a close friend that bred budgies and she was willing to take most of my birds and just recently she unfortunetly due to a family illness had to give up all her precious fids as well. So I was able to get my boy back! And now he is home to stay!

I cannot wait to get out the breeding boxes watch all the progress. I hope you all enjoyed seeing the pics of the fids and look forward to all of the updates:)

Getting Started

So I have my pairs almost ready to put the nest boxes up. I have 2 pairs at the moment. The beautiful April and August. And the magnificent green pair kiwi and Big Jewel. I will have pictures tomorrow. So stay tuned.

Big Jewel is part English Budgie so I am excited to see what their babies look like.

I am very new at this blogging stuff so you will have to bear with me. But I am not new at breeding. I have bred Budgies, Cockatiels and several finch species.

This is really going to be fun. Thanks so much everyone for reading and I look forward to breeding you all amazing budgies:)
